Covid-19 Control Plan

We strive to make your visit to Creative Wellness as safe as possible, for you and our therapists by integrating recommendations from the WHO, CDC, OSHA, and several Massage Therapy Organizations.

Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to seeing you soon!  If you have any questions, please feel free to give us a call.

Confirming Appointments

Appointments will be confirmed 48 hours in advance, via email and 24 hours in advance via text, unless opted out.

You are expected to do a COVID pre-screen:

  • Do you or any of your household members have any COVID-19 or flu like symptoms - fever, cough, shortness of breath, body aches, sore throat?

  • Have you or any household members been exposed to someone with symptoms or confirmed illness within the last 14 days?

  • Have you or any house household members traveled outside MA to any state not designated lower risk

  • Have you had the COVID-19 vaccine in the 48 hours prior to your appointment?

  • Before your first visit back, have you completed an Intake Form, as directed?

For your first few sessions back, our studio manager, Jess, will text you:

  • Confirmation on which studio door to use (suite 16 or 17)

  • Any additional information you may need

Appointments will be rescheduled for anyone who is symptomatic or asymptomatic but exposed to anyone with symptoms or confirmed illness within the last 14 days. There will be no cancellation charge for any appointment rescheduled due to illness.

Guest must wear a face mask

Masks are mandatory for all therapists & clients in Massachusetts receiving bodywork, no exceptions.   All clients MUST arrive wearing an approved face mask, which loops behind your ears or ties behind your head.   Please note, scarves, vent-style masks, and 'neck gaiter ' style masks are not approved style face masks.  Disposable surgical masks are available to purchase for a small fee in the studio.

A face mask must be worn at all times within the building, studio, and treatment room. And yes, your massage will still be effective and enjoyable- we invite you to try it out, even if you feel hesitant!

PPE for Therapists

For your protection and ours, your massage therapist will don a clean set of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) for your entire visit.  Your therapist will wear a face mask, eye protection, and apron for the duration of their time in the studio and for your visit.

While Brookline is in Phase III, Step 2, your therapists will not wear gloves as per guidelines issued for Close Contact Personal Services.   If Brookline shifts to Phase III, Step 1, or an earlier phase, your therapist will wear disposable gloves as required by MA state law for Close Contact Personal Services.

Covid-19 Vaccine Your Therapist & You

As of Monday, March 15, 2021, our therapists have recieved the first and second doses of the COVID-19 Vaccine.

If you are scheduled to receive the first or second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, we ask that you schedule any massage appointments at least 48 after your injection.

Even if you are vaccinated, per CDC guidelines and MA state law, you willl be required to wear a face mask for your entire massage session.  Your therapist will wear full PPE, including facemask and face sheild.

On Arrival

Upon arrival at the studio, please knock on the door and wait outside the designated studio door, wearing your mask.

  • Do not arrive too early. Arrive no more than 10 mins before your session.

  • Do not arrive late, or we may need to reduce your time to not impact the next guest.

  • Use the restroom and wash your hands before entering our studio.  The therapist will meet you outside with the bathroom key.

  • We have hand sanitizer for you to use before and after your session.

  • We will take your temperature using a non-contact thermometer before your treatment. The standard protocol for fever dismissal is a reading of 100.4°F or higher.

  • You will be asked Covid-19 screening questions before the massage session starts.

  • No food will be allowed in the studio, and any beverages a guest brings will be limited to ONE sealable container.

Social Distancing

All work will be done BY APPOINTMENT ONLY with no walk-ins allowed.

When you arrive, knock on the door to suite 16 and wait in the designated spot outside.

Appointments will be spaced out to allow ample time for disinfecting public items such as doorknobs, bathroom, etc.

Studio Capacity

The number of people in the studio will be limited to ONE client - One massage therapist per suite. There will be NO FRIENDS OR FAMILY ALLOWED.

We ask that you ARRIVE ON TIME, as this will help manage the flow and ensure your safety and ours.   Those arriving too early will be unable to enter the studio and may be asked to wait outside.

Air Purity

Air quality and filtering are essential at Creative Wellness, and we've chosen a combined method for enhanced safety.

  • Air Filtration We've added extra-large room HEPA air purifiers to each lounge and treatment room.  Each air purifier is rated for room sizes up to 465 square feet, and our largest treatment room is only 216 square feet.  The air purifier filters the room air up to 5 times per hour.   While there is ongoing research about the effectiveness of air purifiers, recent research suggests they can reduce the risk of transmission of other viruses similar to Covid-19.

  • Fresh Air: Our treatment rooms all have windows that open to the outside, and we've added dual-direction window exhaust fans for bringing in the fresh air and moving out room air.

  • Air Conditioners: Our A/C units do not transfer air between rooms.  Our studio does not have an integrated HVAC system but rather stand-alone units for each room.

  • Time: We schedule a minimum of 30 minutes between sessions, with a more extended mid-day break.  This allows enough time for the therapist to clean the treatment room and allows the room to rest before the next session.

Digital Payments and Rebooking

For the immediate future, payments and rebooking may not happen in the studio.  If you do not rebook in the studio after your session, you will receive a text confirming:

  1. Your fee for the session

  2. If you would like to add a tip

  3. Session options for rebooking

Your credit card on file will automatically be charged before the end of the day.   During this time, Creative Wellness will no longer be selling massage packages.

If you would like to pay cash or check or use a different credit card than the one on file, please let us know before your session.

Things to keep in mind

Much of our cleaning and sanitizing protocols have not changed because we already had those in place before the pandemic. However, we have added extra cleaning and disinfecting time at the end of each appointment, so our treatment room has time to "breathe" and be properly sanitized for the next guest. We are utilizing additional HEPA air purifiers, hospital-grade disinfectant, gloves, and more for everyone's safety in our office.

We are aware that there are risks involved in re-opening our business, and it is our goal to promote respect, kindness, and safety in moving forward through uncertain times. We encourage you to reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns before your next visit to our studio. We look forward to seeing you soon!
